As Deputy Associate Director for Economic Policy and Acting Chief Economist at the Office of Management and Budget, Jamie shaped trillion-dollar decisions on federal spending and regulatory policy across the Executive Branch. She advised senior White House officials on the government's most complex resource allocation challenges – from tax policy and veteran’s healthcare reform to Social Security and education.

 

She led OMB’s macroeconomic forecasting for Presidential budgets, spearheaded the overhaul of federal cost-benefit analysis guidance for federal programs – the rulebook every federal agency uses to justify federal grants and other expenditures, which was last updated in 1992 – and shaped the fiscal trajectory of the President’s Budget under Obama, Biden and Trump. Jamie led OMB’s Economic Policy Division in providing both quick economic intelligence and in-depth modeling for high level political appointees on topics ranging from AI to tax policy to macroeconomics to energy.

 

Jamie joined Lauruse in 2026 to translate that insider expertise into competitive intelligence for companies navigating Washington and beyond. She uses her expertise on policy issues and the policy process to help companies anticipate policy shifts and capitalize on billion-dollar opportunities – moving first when it matters most.
